|OK| saves the values and the ordering and location of palettes in a disk file in the folder of the application. The values are automatically loaded when the program is restarted. Preferences are also saved with projects.

|Automatic Color Display:| if set, the application switches between color and black and white display. If off, the |Color| command in the |Project| menu controls color display.
|Show Color Readout:| if set when arrow pointer passes over objects, color readout is displayed: Black |Bk|, White |Wt|, Red |Rd|, Green |Gr|, Cyan |Cy|, Magenta |Mg|, Yellow |Yw|, Blue |B|, - see |Show Size| in the |Layout| menu.
|Export with Color:|, if set, exported PICT (in clipboard or file) provides color information. For files, PICT uses old colors (see |Show Color Readout|, PICT2 uses full color. If off, then color is stripped - see |Export| in the |File| menu.
|Preselection Highlight:| if set, boundaries of objects are highlighted so that you can verify the proper selection and scope of an object.

|Draw From Center:| if set, some tools in the |Tool Palette| have a dot to indicate that the mouse click specifies the center, and dragging defines the rectangles corner (rather than dragging corner to corner).
|Use Picture Prompt:| if set, then when a |PICT| is imported, a prompt lets you choose to either break the picture into objects, or to leave the |PICT| unaltered as a single |Picture Object|, which is useful for color images.

|Short Menus:| if set, then the |Graphic| menu is shortened.
|Revert to Arrow:| if set, then after creating a graphic (oval, rectangle, polygon etc), the tool automatically reverts to the |Pointer tool|.

|Output| values control some aspects of display to screen, export and printing.
|Editing | values allow user to control some editing processes.
|PICT Import| values control import of all versions of PICT (the Macintosh standard for graphics and colored images). Values apply to automatic clipboard import or user actions to import a PICT file.
The |Global Preferences:| dialog sets user preferences. When saved to disk, the location and ordering of palettes (except the tool palette) are also saved. Preferences and palettes are also saved in projects.
